The Annoying Stuff Even Good Sites Do

The petty frictions that show up in the fine print. Worth knowing before they catch you out.

Even the best of the eleven sites we cover do a few annoying things. The list is short, but it exists, and you should know about it before it catches you out.

  • The silent max-bet-while-wagering rule. Usually buried a click or two into the terms. Go over the limit once and some sites void the bonus and every win it touched. Quietly.
  • The default-on welcome bonus. Some sites auto-apply the welcome bonus on first deposit unless you untick the box. Your deposit is suddenly locked in wagering before you realise.
  • The withdrawal threshold. A few sites set a higher minimum for crypto withdrawals than fiat. Small thing, but real.
  • The one-off "verification" delay. Some sites add a one-time compliance delay on your first withdrawal and don't warn you. You think the site is slow. It's just cautious once.
  • Sportsbook-only promos that contribute zero to casino wagering. Legal. Still annoying.

Any of our sites that do these things get flagged in their review, in the Watch For section. Readers tell us that's the section they read most, and fair enough.
